About Green Hill Solar
Green Hill Solar was created as a sister company to Beck Builders of Virginia to bring cost effective alternative energy solutions to homes, businesses, and farms in the Shenandoah Valley. Beck Builders pays careful attention to energy efficiency and sustainability in new and existing homes and buildings. We installed our first Solar Photovoltaic (PV) system on the Leaman Carbon Neutral Home in 2017. Following that installation we have constructed numerous solar panel systems on new and existing homes and commercial projects, becoming a leading solar company in Virginia. We are convinced that solar energy in the form of electricity generation makes economic and environmental sense for most homeowners or businesses.

Why Solar?
- Environmental - The installation of solar panels offsets the production of electricity from CO2 producing generation such as coal and natural gas. It is a clean energy that comes from converting the energy from the sun into electricity. In our current environmental conditions, it is clear that our worldwide appetite for energy generation must become cleaner and less harmful to the environment.
- Economic/Financial - Solar makes financial sense! For home owners and business owners in Virginia, a 30% federal tax credit exists to help offset the cost of materials and installation of a Solar system. For business owners, additional depreciation benefits on the system exist depending on one’s tax liability, which additionally, decreases the payback time frame and improves the overall return on investment. Financial evaluation of a system usually includes the length of time it takes for a system to generate enough electricity to pay for itself. The second is a return on investment (ROI). The ROI is calculated as an investment that matures over the warrantied life of most panels, 25 years.
As a Class A Building General Contractor and Licensed Alternative Energy Specialist in the Commonwealth of Virginia, we believe that we have a unique perspective and ability that blends alternative energy generation into a deep understanding of home and building systems. Any repairs, such as new roofing, can be seamlessly blended into a solar project.

If interested in a system, we provide free initial cost estimates and payback time-frames to determine if a Solar Panel System makes sense for you. Further electricity production estimates and financial projections will be offered with a proposal, following a site visit to your specific location. We make our designs based on careful analysis of orientation, size of space available for the solar panels, and current roof conditions (if a roof mount), using current design software and financial modeling based on historical trends in electricity costs.

Jeremy Keegan, Director of Sales; Green Hill Solar
Jeremy has been in and out of the construction world quite a bit over the past 20 years. He started out as a framing carpenter building duplexes and quads in a housing development, and moved on to have his own home improvement company. He later worked in window and door sales at R.S. Monger & Sons, and is a certified CSI Construction Document Technologist. The times he hasn't been in construction, he's been in the tech world, working for several software development companies, so he's right at home with solar, an interesting blend of his two main professional pursuits. Jeremy has traveled to Mississippi and Jamaica to help out in rebuilding efforts in the wake of hurricane damage. One of his favorite hobbies is building gardening and small livestock infrastructure in his backyard. |
